Ankle Boots

Image of Street style star wearing ankle boots

Ankle boots are one of our ultimate winter accessories; we wear them with pretty much our entire wardrobe. The mistake people make is thinking that one pair is enough. We would always recommend a good black pair and then one in another shade, such as tan or burgundy. Always try to go for a heel you would be comfortable walking in, otherwise you won’t end up wearing them as much as you should. A little tip: the wider the boot sits on the ankle, the thinner your leg will look.

This season we’re all about the burgundy boot – it goes with all of your neutrals from navy to black, but will also complement even the trickiest of shades (bright pink, anyone?)

Gianvito Rossi£670

Camel and black two-tone is renowned for adding extra inches to your legs and, make no mistake, this Gianvito Rossi pair will do exactly that

Alexa Chung£420

We’ve become great fans of Alexa’s label – timeless, sexy pieces that you will wear over and over. Pair these boots with everything, as long as you can get a taxi to your destination

See by Chloe£330

Sometimes even a classic ankle boot needs a personality. We love this fringed pair that will transform the most basic jeans-and-jumper combo into something a little special

J. Crew£228

Every woman should have a classic black ankle boot in her wardrobe armoury. This pared-down style will stand the test of time and go with everything from jeans to a leather skirt

Topshop£59

Believe it or not, finding a good tan boot this season is pretty tricky. We were thrilled when we found this Topshop pair, at a great price point and a sensible heel height. Winner!
