  • Highlighters

At Wardrobe ICONS we’re not big on heavy contouring or sculpting. However what we do love is a glow – a healthy shine that makes the most sallow of complexions look bright, refreshed and dewy. The easiest way we have found to get these kinds of results is with a good quality CC cream and most importantly a highlighter. Here are our favourite four that we have tried and tested – they work every time.

Since its recent launch in the UK, I’ve been obsessed with Glossier’s no-nonsense make-up and skincare range and the Haloscope face highlighter is my absolute favourite. I love the large stick formula and it’s so easy to apply: rub it generously on your cheekbones for a shine finish that’s never dry or glittery, just perfectly dewy and radiant.

Whenever I want to achieve an all-over sun-kissed look, this bronze highlighter is the product I use on my eyelids, cheekbones, the top of my nose and to dab on my lips too. The liquid consistency means it glides onto your skin and you can really spread it out without getting a streaky effect.

Morning Aura Illuminating Crème is one of those products that does exactly what it says on the label. If my skin really needs a boost or is looking particularly lifeless I apply this under my CC cream or foundation for a healthy glow. However there are times when I use it as a straight highlighter on my cheekbones, cupid’s bow and eyelids for a light lift. Despite my sensitive skin I am yet to develop a rash with it and it smells divine, too.

I like to think of this as my shoot glow. A little more heavy duty than Morning Aura – this is a showgirl kind of shine in the best possible way. With this aptly named Hollywood Beauty Light Wand I can give myself raised brows and sculpted cheeks without looking like I have been plastered with make-up. It has a high-gloss finish that lasts, but tastefully so, and you will barely feel that you are wearing anything.
