From Arosa to Cape Town (with Sussex and Florence in between) team WARDROBE ICONS shows you what to pack in the perfect suitcase.
First up is Laura returning to Florence for a European City break and a chance to recharge with her family.
Florence is all about relaxing and spending time with my family. It’s a chance for me to unwind and take a break from work for a little while, so I always make sure I pack essential items that I know will make my break a little easier. We try to go back as often as possible, so I’ve become a pro at packing lightly by making sure that everything I bring works with other items in my suitcase. Especially now that I have Greta I want to make sure that travelling and being away from home is as smooth as possible.
What’s the first thing you pack for your Florence break?
It’s a common misconception that Florence is warmer than the rest of Europe at this time of the year, but it’s actually really cold so a good coat is a must. I like something that’s both practical and stylish that can take me from travelling with child to dinner with friends– a pea coat and a pom pom beanie hat are ideal.
Do you have any packing tips for a short break?
Don’t pack things, pack outfits – it’s the only way you’ll wear everything you are taking with you. Don’t forget to pack a traveling outfit too and always write a list of the things you are doing so you have the right clothes and accessories for each. Finally, have pouches and zip lock bags for everything – it helps to be organised (I love the Alphabet bag range).
