Kate Phelan is the creative director of Topshop and Contributing Fashion Editor at British Vogue. Renowned for her paired down love of classic tailoring and a masculine inspired aesthetic built around key, quality staples we were thrilled to talk to the woman whose work has inspired us and whose style exactly embodies the Wardrobe ICONS philosophy.
Kate Phelan has spent more than 20 years creating some of the best known and most awe-inspiring imagery with every supermodel and top photographer in the fashion world. You are guaranteed to have seen her fabulous styling on the pages of magazines and in campaigns around the world. When Topshop famously lured Phelan – one of the fashion world’s most revered stylists – away from her position as co-fashion director at Vogue in 2011 for a newly created role, it was a coup which shocked the fashion world. Now she is back with a foot in both camps and we talk trend temptation, style tips and how to choose forever style and quality in a world where bigger and louder seems to be the way forward.
