As you all know by now, we’re a little cashmere-obsessed – it’s something we tend to invest in heavily. Don’t get us wrong, there are plenty of alternatives – alpaca coats, merino wool skirts – but nothing makes us happier than a good piece of cashmere. We say good, because there’s lots out there but we like the softest kind – it’s often the most ethically and sustainably produced. Here is a selection of our favourite pieces that we think every woman should own or perhaps have on their wish-list for Christmas or birthdays.
We love a quirky cashmere knit, but it should still be in a classic shade like black, navy or grey. Our favourites tend to be from Chinti and Parker or Bella Freud, because they manage to do something unexpected but still completely wearable
Now, admittedly, Chinti and Parker’s Miffy collaboration might not be for everyone, but a cashmere knit with a twist will be one of those unexpected icons in your wardrobe you’ll reach for time and time again. Of course an alternative, such as merino wool, will do the job as well, but there is something super-luxurious about having cashmere as the fun part of your outfit. Dress down a statement skirt or add a little excitement to a pair of jeans; either way, don’t be afraid of the quirk.
