Last year on holiday I made a note that after a long day at the beach, a shower, after sun and maxi dresses were all I wanted to wear. They are so comfortable and instantly make me feel chic and put together. This year I’ve come prepared and have been stocking up on them during the sales. I love anything with a bit of a boho vibe- new brand Pampelone is one to watch.

I never suggest bringing expensive jewellery on holiday. I always strip off anything of valuable but I always pack a selection of fun and colourful bits to accessorise dresses in the evening. I have a small fabric roll-up jewellery case that I fill will long beaded necklaces, tasselled earrings, gold bangles and crystal embellished friendship bracelets.

I always remember to pack lots of cotton tops that, worn with denim shorts, are practically all I wear. I like loose shapes that don’t cling to the body in the heat- think about fabric composition when you are packing yours. I also always pack a raffia or fabric clutch bag for the evening because it instantly adds a smart touch even to a simple kaftan.

Every year to celebrate the arrival of summer I pile on lots of bracelets that I’ve collected in the years and I don’t take them off until I come back from holiday.
