In conversation with Leandra Medine
Here at Wardrobe Icons we aim to inspire. But who inspires us? Leandra Medine, founder of the cult blog Man Repeller, is one such lady. We love the way Medine embraces her individual yet elegant style through her blog as well as through her highly humorous and self deprecating Instagram posts. This is a young woman who doesn’t take fashion or herself too seriously, instead choosing to use social media to champion the individuality of women, taking huge enjoyment from helping to empower our differences.
Leandra Medine is not your average cookie-cutter, style-by-numbers Blogger. For a start her style is very much her own, mixing up favourite wardrobe staples (she has a penchant for bandanas, denim and statement footwear) with new additions from Rosie Assouline and Vita Kin. She is staunchly make-up free and blow dry averse. Her articles and interviews are always insightful, witty and intelligent with women of all ages and her quirky style tips are often thought provoking as well as handy. This is the woman who makes us look at fashion from a different point of view, turning our preconception of what works on its head and who alone ignited Petro’s obsession with culottes as the perfect Wardrobe Icon. We were thrilled to be able to find out a little bit more about Man Repeller, how it all started and what makes it’s fashion heroine tick.
