In conversation with Livia Firth
Livia Firth is the Creative Director of Eco-Age, the sustainability brand consultancy. As wife of British actor Colin Firth, she has walked her fair share of red carpets but it is since setting up The Green Carpet Challenge in 2010 that she has stepped into the limelight, challenging the face of Eco fashion. Wardrobe Icons was excited to meet the woman who is upping the Eco fashion stakes, challenging social justice and whose new project for the iconic British store Marks & Spencer has her singing their praises.
Whilst having lived in Britain for more than twenty years, Livia Firth talks in a beautifully inflected Italian accent, and it’s with great passion that she explains how her small Eco consultancy, Eco-Age has grown into a company that now advises and collaborates with some of the biggest names in fashion from Burberry to Gucci. However it’s her latest venture with British store Marks and Spencer and her ‘best of edit’ for them that has got us excited here at Wardrobe Icons. We may have not set out to be Eco warriors but the Wardrobe Icon philosophy – of buying what you love and building a lasting wardrobe filled with well crafted items that will work for you again and again is at the heart of Firth’s advice. As mothers and as women we are inspired by this trail blazer and her desire to change the world and women’s lives in the process.
