If you want a timeless high-summer trend, this is most definitely it. Nothing screams holiday quite like an embroidered detail. This season there is so much of it out there, from Temperley to Tory Burch to new brands such as March 11. This delicate trim has been a suitcase essential from the 50s onwards and it’s easy to see why. Effortlessly chic, it goes with anything from denim shorts to a pair of chinos. If you haven’t invested yet, make sure you consider this summer icon. We promise that you’ll wear it summer after summer, and so will the next generation you pass it on to.
This is time of the year to go bold or go home. Bold doesn’t mean garish, though – hues should be strong, but we’re not necessarily advocating head-to-toe neon. In fact, one of our favourite shades is Emilia Wickstead’s pretty lilac. Mixing tones can be rather tricky, so we recommend going for one solid block colour instead. Blondes or fair-skinned ladies should try yellows and blues, while olive and darker skin tones look wonderful in pinks and reds. The right shade of green, however, can work on anyone. We would keep any accessories neutral – monochrome or tan.
