Which are your favourite scents in your candle collection? What kind of emotions or state of mind do they evoke for you?
I love all our scents and use them in equal measure. Some, such as No.5 – geranium, orange, lavender and ylang ylang, are intended to be calming. Others, such as No.15 – fig and grape, are designed to transport you to moments spent with loved ones in the balmy air of the Mediterranean.
Do you have any insider tips on how to get the most out of our candles and make sure they burn evenly, right through to the end?
I am so glad you mentioned this! We always ask our customers to follow our Candle Care guide. Our top insider tips include: always trim your wick, allow the candle to burn for at least two to three hours the first time it’s lit, and make sure it’s not burning in a draft.
Aside from a beautifully designed candle, what would you say are the essentials for a chic coffee table?
To create a sanctuary of my living area, I like to burn our No.1 in the Grande size, which is a statement piece, so I keep the coffee table uncluttered: I have a pile of inspirational books, matches in an antique striker, fresh flowers, and a rattan tray holding a few collected items and a glass of something celebratory or a cup of something warming.
What items do you consider important for creating a sanctuary at home?
Sanctuary must be sustainable, as well as elegant and and restrained. We love naturally hand-dyed fabrics from our friends at Cloth Collective, playful cushions from Hadeda, super-cool, handmade wavey lampshades from Munro and Kerr and pared-back pieces from Anton and K.
What sparked the idea of the Perpetual Candle?
I conceived the vessels to be cherished rather than disposed of once the initial candle had expired: I use them to store make-up brushes or display pretty stems. I also wanted them to carry on being enjoyed for the reason they were intended, so the Perpetual Candle is a refill, and hopefully does away with the age-old question: ‘Should I light the candle?’ Always light the candle.

We cannot accept liability for any delivery instructions issued to the delivery company by the customer. If you leave instructions requesting a parcel to be left in an alternative location, for example with a neighbour or in a garage, we cannot accept responsibility if you fail to receive your parcel.
We hope you love our products as much as we do. However if you are not entirely satisfied with the goods purchased directly via our online store you can return them to us for a refund or exchange.
Items are carefully inspected and packaged before they are shipped. Damage occurring enroute is highly unlikely however should this occur please contact us as soon as possible. Keep all of the original packing material and we’ll provide you with instructions. We’ll investigate the fault or damage immediately.
We ask that you notify (via ICONorders@heloiseohagan.com) and return them to us within 7 days.
The returned products must be new, in perfect condition suitable for resale and in the original packaging (this must also be in perfect condition and suitable for resale). All fragile items must be securely packaged. We strongly recommend that you obtain proof of postage for the goods as we can take no responsibility for goods lost in transit.
We will be happy to issue a refund, which will go onto the original payment method used when you made your purchase. We are not able to refund any postage charges.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer exchanges for orders placed online. Please return your item/s by post and place a new order.
Please provide proof of purchase when returning an item. If you are unable to provide proof of purchase, an exchange or gift card to the value of the lowest-selling price for the returned goods will be offered. A refund will be offered regardless if the items are faulty.
Once your parcel has been received by our team it can take up to five days to process your return and please remember – once the refund is processed – that it can take up to 5 days for the funds to appear on your card statement.
