Rebecca Udall founded her eponymous homeware label in 2019, after struggling to find exceptional bed linen at a fair price. Sourcing from ethical, artisan manufacturers, she creates design-led and customisable linens of the highest quality for a luxurious night’s sleep. The brand has also expanded into tableware, including stylish placemats, napkins and tablecloths.
Who are your favourite interior designers and why?
My absolute favourite design firm has to be Todhunter Earle interiors; their designs are so timeless and chic. For more playful design, Turner Pocock are divine, incorporating pattern and colour beautifully. For true classic-contemporary, I love Laura Hammett; their lighting and flooring is incredible.
Which are your favourite pieces from the collection and how do you style them at home?
My rattan chargers are incredibly versatile and get a lot of use – you can lay a simple but delightful table with them in minutes. I like to layer them with my waxed linen placemats – it adds interest through contrast.
Do you have any evening rituals to help you unwind?
I am elevating daily rituals more than normal at the moment – it’s important to appreciate the little things. I religiously light my Heloise O’Hagan No.5 candle, which contains lavender; it is so calming. Before bed, I massage Amly’s Sleep Tight Balm into my face, which feels very restorative.
Tell us your tips for designing the perfect tablescape.
Layering and colour balance is essential. Use each colour at least twice to tie everything together, and cultivate an atmosphere with candles and flowers. More important than anything, though, is to echo the food and be true to your own style. In this respect, there are a lot of similarities with fashion.
Which countryside escapes are on your wishlist for a relaxing break?
For a long time, I’ve been dreaming of a driving holiday through rural parts of France and Italy. There are so many fantastic communities utilising heritage skills, such as hand-painting ceramics and glass-making, that I’d love to discover.
