  • Chino Dressing

Something happened to us last weekend. We didn’t gravitate towards our winter uniform of jeans, chunky knit and heavy coat. Instead, we pulled on a pair of wide-leg chinos — and wow, did that softly tailored, breezy silhouette feel good. So we’re calling it. The time has come for a weekend step-change. Switch out knits for shirts, winter fabrics for cotton, linen and poplin, and overall, go for that pretty utility vibe.

    THE JUMPSUIT

This season’s biggest hit is a no-brainer for the weekend. Our favourite style has a more tailored top half and wider leg, which is super-comfortable and flattering. Add trainers – or pair with heels to look more polished.

    THE MIDI

We love smart tailoring in neutral summer fabrics, like poplin, which feels so fresh right now with a striped blouse and sleek white ankle boots. Perfect for a smart weekend, this works for work too.

    THE DRESS

This dress-version of chinos has that same utility feel, with buttons, pockets and pared-back design, but offers a different kind of versatility. We love it with a classic trench and espadrilles, although flats would work too.

    THE WIDE-LEG

Instantly update broderie anglaise tops by pairing them with wide-leg chinos. This style looks smart but feels so comfortable, which is our weekend sweet spot. Earthy accessories (and a headband) finish the look.
