Modern Tailoring
Rejina Pyo is that rare designer who combines incredibly detailed tailoring with a carefree style, creating a fusion that has resulted in a seriously covetable collection of summer dresses, clever tops and everyday denim. One of her signature dresses, the Greta, has been photographed on everyone from legendary stylist Kate Foley to our very own Laura Fantacci – it seems none of us can get enough of Pyo’s interpretation of the new cool. You know you’re onto something special when you can pair almost every item with Stan Smiths or your favourite heels and still love the way it looks. Rejina Pyo is a truly innovative designer, seamlessly blending art and fashion to create something wonderfully fresh: definitely one to watch.
I am totally obsessed with this Rejina Pyo dress. I love the fact that it’s designed with so much consideration for a woman’s body. Every dart and seam is there for a reason – the clever corseting detail on the waist on this dress pulls you in and is super-flattering. The ultimate effect is a dress that feels like it was made just for me
Rejina Pyo, the Korean-born designer, graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2011 with a fashion MA, making waves with a stand-out collection for London Fashion Week, before promptly becoming Roksanda Ilincic’s first assistant designer. It wasn’t long before she struck out on her own; soon after winning the prestigious Han Nefkens Fashion Award in 2012, Pyo held a solo show that focused on the fusion between fashion and art.
