SpotLIGHT on...
Caroline Constas
Sculptural Shirting
Chances are, like us, you’ve worn an off-the-shoulder top or dress at some point in the last year and and there’s really only one woman to thank – Caroline Constas. Her smart designs bring a modern edge to the traditional concept of tailoring, complete with bell-sleeves and flamenco ruffles in the softest cotton and poplin, creating the perfect balance between casual and dressy. The beauty in these designs is their timelessness: Bardot necklines are a big trend this season, but Constas’ contemporary twists ensure that they’ll stay current summer after summer.

New York-based Canadian designer Caroline Constas developed her label after realising that there was a gap in the market for wearable, intelligent designs. Having originally studied to go to medical school, Constas relocated to New York after graduating and began consulting for fashion clients, before enrolling at Parsons School of Design and going on to launch her first capsule collection in spring 2013.
We love the drama that this skirt adds to an otherwise casual outfit, without becoming over-the-top. It makes you feel as if you've dressed up and made an effort (even if you haven't), whether you wear it with sandals on holiday or with heels in the city
