Ed’s Letter

When Laura and I set out to find the very smartest buys, we didn’t look online. That’s because it’s almost impossible to judge the quality of clothes and shoes without touching the fabric and trying them on. When it comes to smart buys, I’ve made many mistakes thinking I know how something will feel based on the picture, only to find that, in reality, it just looks or feels… cheap. So for this issue, we spent a week hitting the shops. From Topshop and Mango to John Lewis and J.Crew, we were in there with piles of clothes. And do you know what? It was so much fun. Plus I found some wear-forever gems.

In Dressing-Room Diaries, we shopped for silhouettes and statements to stand the test of time alongside your other beloved purchases. We also tried out my latest obsession, nude nails, and found four modern shades that’ll make you feel (excuse the pun) instantly polished. This is probably our number-one beauty DM, after red lips.
