Monikh and Petro on our cover shoot
The sun is (finally) shining in London and it’s put a spring in my step!
For our readers who don’t live in London and who may already be living in spring, we’ve had a cold snap. And it was with reluctance that many of us slipped back into heavier layers. But all that’s behind us now (for this week at least), so I’ve instantly switched to city baskets and broderie anglaise – and urge you all to as well while the sun shines. Nothing will make you feel more springlike!
Now for a word on our cover star, the lovely Monikh Dale. Laura and I first met her on a work trip last May, and I was immediately struck by her warmth… and style. I’d previously followed her on Instagram and was thrilled to see her agonising over a pair of Chanel sandals (that she ended up leaving behind). For me, it was seeing that she really is someone who genuinely wants to make sensible and stylish choices. It’s the same thing we’re always talking about here, and I love meeting women who share our philosophy. After all, that’s what leads to a wardrobe of staples you love.
For this issue, we were invited to her gorgeous home to take a look inside her wardrobe (and bathroom cabinet too!). I honestly credit her with coaxing me into trends I thought weren’t for me – and now live in. Namely, the silk slip and sweater combo. She just has a way of putting clothes together that makes trends feel very accessible.
Elsewhere in the issue, we share our favourite spring treatments for reviving tired skin, break down how to wear a shorts suit, and I’ve contributed a skirt masterclass after my colleagues insisted that I wear skirts more than anyone else at ICONS HQ. And after some thought, I admitted they were right! They really are the most versatile separates in my closet, so I hope you enjoy all my tips and tricks for pulling together a dream skirt capsule.
Love Petro (and Laura) xx
