But what has been interesting to note is how much this new state of play has made us want to reconnect, be that with nature or each other. So, with that in mind, for this latest issue of the ICONS Update, we’ve made every effort to reconnect with our ICONS community. We’ve scrapped our original content ideas and, after collectively considering what would be relevant and entertaining to read in these times, put a new plan in place.
As Wardrobe ICONS is all about essentials, we wanted to dedicate the issue to what the new essentials are; embracing comfort, staying connected, enjoying nature and breathing deeply. Our ICONS Guide touches on all of these; we’ve asked a handful of women whom we admire to tell us how they’ve been adjusting to working from home and to share their tips for keeping positive and motivated. Their insightful and inspiring words of wisdom are not to be missed.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what constitutes a must-have at the moment and put together my own list of staples and little luxuries that are helping me look and feel pulled together. Meanwhile, Petro has compiled a beautiful edit of the easy ways we can get back to nature and embrace the healing power of the great outdoors – even if you’re stuck inside.
We believe that what you wear has an enormous effect on wellbeing, so we wanted to focus on the realistic pieces that will make you feel polished when working from home. In Unexpected Hero we shine a light on knitted co-ords, an elevated take on loungewear dressing, while our Style Sheet tackles waist-up dressing for those laptop conference calls. And with thoughts of springtime sandals currently on hold, we’ve turned our attention to finding the chicest slippers to wear inside and out.
Finally, with anxiety levels running high, now’s the moment to take time out and indulge in a calming beauty ritual. We asked the team to share their ultimate stress-relieving products and talk us through the steps they’re taking to unwind each day. Discover our four favourites in Beauty Focus.
I really hope that you enjoy this issue as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together, and I’d love to hear any feedback you have on what you’d like to see in the next issue, or even on our social media account. You can drop us a line on Instagram or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. And don’t forget, if you’re looking for something to listen to, you can catch up on series one and two of the ICONversations podcast.
Wishing everyone health and happiness
