The unofficial theme for this issue is ‘practical’…

It’s all well and good talking about the amazing things happening on the catwalks, however, practicality remains the core demand of our wardrobes. So, we wanted to dedicate this issue to the pieces that serve us in everyday life; the stylish staples that take us from the office to the supermarket, via the school drop-off. A wardrobe is only successful if it’s fit for purpose, but, as this issue proves, functional can still be fabulous.

One person who knows this is Lily Aldridge. She might be a world-famous supermodel, but as a mum of two, Lily is no stranger to a busy day-to-day routine. She talked to our content director, Frankie, about work/life balance, her everyday beauty essentials and the pieces she’ll be wearing this autumn.

As you’ll discover, Lily has a soft spot for winter boots, something we at Wardrobe ICONS share. In fact, I’ve reached for my Church’s Alexandra lace-up boots so often already this season, I wanted to put together a Style Sheet showing you four different ways to wear them. We’ve also rounded up the top 10 flat boots to know about – from riding to biker, there’s something for all.

Elsewhere, our fashion editor, Florence, shares 14 reasons why jumpers and denim are the perfect pairing, and we highlight the many sartorial joys of leopard print in Unexpected Hero

I am incredibly proud of this issue’s Shoot, in partnership with Tiffany & Co. When we started Wardrobe ICONS seven years ago, I had a dream list of iconic brands that I’d love to work with, which, of course, was topped by Tiffany & Co. The new T collection is a perfect harmony of the jewellery house’s exquisite craftsmanship, classic design and contemporary aesthetic. I loved seeing how the women of Wardrobe ICONS styled the pieces for everyday wear, and how the collection worked so effortlessly with different personalities and styles. The marker of a true ICON, don’t you think?

Finally, as the weather gets that much colder, adjustments need to be made to our beauty routines to fend off the effects of central heating and chapping winds. Our beauty columnist Ava shares her helpful guide to winterising your kit, and the nourishing products to know about.

    Enjoy!

    Laura (& Petro) xx

It’s never too soon to invest in a classic Fair Isle, especially because they sell out so quickly! I love this navy style – a collaboration between Troy and Brora.

The Outnet is such a brilliant destination to uncover designer pieces at discounted prices, but their own label, Iris & Ink, never fails to deliver incredible quality at an accessible price point, too.

A cream coat always looks so chic in winter. Paired with dresses, denim or leather, it’s an instant outfit enhancer.
