    Ed’s Letter

Welcome to the only party edit you need this season.

From the moment we met Fiona Leahy at The Serpentine last summer, we knew she was the perfect cover star for our party issue. So you can imagine our glee when she said yes. Who better to talk party than the visionary behind some of the most fabulous events we have seen on the tiles (think Gwyneth Paltrow, Aerin Lauder and Damien Hirst, to mention a few of her famous clients)? She’s the creative force behind tablescapes we’ve been trying to recreate for years, and she also happens to have a wardrobe so heavily geared towards fabulous dresses that it felt like stepping into a dreamland.

Next, we thought about dressing for a party. And about how so much of it comes down to confidence, and knowing how to be true to you – but in something fabulous. These days, there really aren’t any rules beyond that. So we turned to the designers who inspire us, and invited them to the MATCHESFASHION townhouse in London to show us how it’s done.

Finally, we considered the finishing touches. Given that we really are just a bunch of magpies here at Wardrobe ICONS HQ, this part of the issue was perhaps our favourite part. All the make-up, shoes and sparkly accessories – which are sometimes all you need to reinvent your favourite dress from last year.

We hope you love the issue, and find something amazing that allows you to feel like the most glittering, stylish and – most importantly – happy version of you!

Our love affair with bows runs deep, but when they sparkle on our earlobes, we’re in heaven

This super-chic jumpsuit is as elegant as it is sexy – the perfect outfit when you want to dress up (but wear trousers)

These party shoes tick every box for us, from the pretty shimmer to the elegant design to the playful pom-pom. Sigh
