  • Laura’s A/W Essentials

There are some pieces you will always find on my new-season essentials list. Take my beloved trench, for instance. It’s my armour against the cool autumn mornings, and a reminder that cold weather does have some redeeming qualities. Likewise, polished knitwear and a wear-on-repeat printed day dress. These are the items I will live in until well into March. But I do like to push myself a little too, and this season you’ll also find lace-up boots and a belted twill jumpsuit on the checklist too. Both classics in their own right, but I’m excited to make them my own. Plus, there’s a chunky bracelet, because, magpie.

    Zimmermann

    Resistance Batwing Bow Sweater£695

“I get so much mileage from knitwear living in the UK. I fell in love with this jumper the moment I saw it on the Zimmermann catwalk – bows are a statement that never date.”

    Frankie Shop

    Linda Belted Brushed-twill Jumpsuit£205

“With a super oversize fit (but still cut for a woman’s body), this utility jumpsuit was my first AW19 purchase, to be worn with rolled-up hems and heels.”

    Boden

    Ampton Ankle Boots£160

“I’ve found my perfect pair of stomping boots at Boden. I like the idea of pairing them with floral dresses and maxi skirts for that dressed-down feel.”

    Laura Fantacci X Tilly Sveaas

    Heart Bracelet Collaboration£350

“This winter I will be mostly wearing my new hearts charm bracelet from my collaboration with queen of chain-link jewellery, Tilly Sveaas. It was inspired by a piece my grandmother gave me.”

    Burberry

The Chelsea Long Cotton-gabardine Trench Coat£1,450

“The transitional season is the perfect time to pull out my Burberry Chelsea trench. I’ll wear it over everything until winter sets in – for me it’s the ultimate investment.”

    Tibi

    High-Neck Ribbed Sweater£535

“Last year I wore my emerald green ribbed Tibi co-ord set, like this one, on repeat all winter. When something works so successfully in my wardrobe, I often like to invest in an additional colourway.”

    Tibi

    High-Rise Ribbed-Knit Midi Skirt£495

“I love how Tibi’s creative director, Amy Smilovic, shares our own philosophy on repeat-wear – you can often find reruns from previous seasons in her collections. This skirt now comes in a array of colours.”

    COS

    Leather Leggings£290

“By far the best fitting leather leggings you will find on the high street (with the bonus of a competitive price), this COS pair has a matt finish and a very flattering cut.”

    Dior

J’Adior Ballerina in Black Technical Canvas£590

“A little modern classic I can’t wait to add to my wardrobe. These Dior flats will probably go on my Christmas list, as they are something I do not need, but desperately want!”

    Tila March

    Ali Mini Leather Bag£312

“I find it so liberating when I switch to a little keys-and-phone bag, like the Ali Mini. This gorgeous design is also super-versatile, as it can be worn cross-body, or as an elegant evening clutch.”

    Ulla Johnson

    Constantine Ruffled Printed Midi Dress£860

“I’m obsessed with Ulla Johnson’s ability to strike the perfect balance between boho and sophisticated. I adore this covered-up dress, perfect for winter days worn with boots and a chunky cardigan.”

    Laura Fantacci X Otiumberg

    Mini Vera Hoops£85

“My gold Mini Vera hoops, part of the collection  I designed for Otiumberg, are back with a new practical clasp closure and their signature flat edge detail. I wear mine every day.”

    Ninety Percent

    Scoop Back Bodysuit£55

“My number one (practical) recommendation this autumn is to invest in a black, long sleeve bodysuit to layer under your summer dresses to make them winter-appropriate. You’re welcome!”

    MSGM

    Slim PVC Trousers£305

“I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of PVC trousers since last year – it’s always a good sign when I still have that hunger the following season. This style has the perfect cut I am looking for.”

    Gianvito Rossi

    85 Leopard-Print Calf Hair Knee Boots£1,630 £652

“They may be on sale (with limited sizes, so act fast!), but leopard print is a neutral that never goes out of style. I can’t wait to wear these Gianvito Rossi boots with everything this winter.”
