There’s nothing we love more than a well-dressed table at Christmas time – something food writer Skye McAlpine agrees on. Her festive dining table is decorated with hand-painted crockery, lit by sparkling candlelight and adorned with her delicious home-cooked dishes. On her list is a pair of party shoes for post-dinner dancing, and a personalised gift for guests to take home.
“It’s not a Christmas party without a box of crackers. I buy simple ones and then dress them up with velvet ribbons from VV Rouleaux.“
“Colourful, decorative plates will dress up the table. I love these floral designs by Fiona Corsini for Anthropologie.“
The Vintage List
“These vintage-inspired glasses are lovely for wine, as well as Champagne. I love how delicate they are… and the tiny stars are perfect for Christmas.”
“I love to gift books because I think it’s something that you treasure. This year, I’m giving my cookbook, A Table in Venice, with a little handwritten note inside for everyone to take home.”
