Looking for a new daily routine? Let our handpicked edit of skincare favourites inspire you.

Edited by Laura & Petro Words by Frankie Graddon

Not all skincare is created equal, so we’ve dedicated time and effort to find those treasured products that never fail to deliver. These are the items we come back to time and again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a friend.

Step one in our skincare regime is a great cleanser, and as far as foaming formulations go, Dermalogica’s Special Cleansing Gel is our undisputed winner. In Laura’s kit for over 10 years, the gentle gel is free of artificial scent, non-drying and thoroughly removes all make-up. With radiance-boosting probiotics and therapeutic essential oils, Aurelia Probiotic Skincare’s Miracle Cleanser provides the ultimate morning cleanse. And after a long week in the city, Omorovicza’s Moor Cream Cleanser purifies and detoxes, leaving complexions fresh and soft.

For radiant, glowing complexions, only the very best exfoliators need apply. Oskia’s Liquid Mask combines exfoliating lactic acid with hydrating hyaluronic acid to offer a rejuvenating and plumping overnight treatment with real results. Master of the gentle scrub, Omorovicza’s Refining Facial Polisher smoothes and encourages cell regeneration, making skin look bright and awake. And for travel bags, May Lindstrom’s The Clean Dirt Brightening Exfoliant Treatment is simply mixed with water to form a purifying and energising wash.

An essential step in our routine, the right toner will boost your skincare benefits. During the summer months, we reach for Caudalie’s iconic Beauty Elixir, which can be stored in the fridge and misted on, to cooling and radiance-boosting effect. For a hydration hit we love Indie Lee’s clean formulation CoQ-10 Toner which is alcohol-free and contains plumping hyaluronic acid. Nothing calms and rebalances skin more effectively than Gallinée’s prebiotic-rich Face Vinegar.

Potent formulations mean serums are the best way to penetrate skin with active ingredients and target specific concerns. For a thorough boost, Vintner’s Daughter’s Active Botanical Serum combines 22 botanical actives – including turmeric, rosehip and avocado – to brighten, protect and balance skin. Blending 11 wild-harvested, organic and cold-pressed essential oils, Vanderohe No. 1 Nourishing Face Serum offers the best night-time pamper around. And for a morning glow boost, Dr. Barbara Sturm’s concentrated Hyaluronic Serum uses two forms of hyaluronic molecules to offer intense hydration. Like a glass of water for your face!

A powerful antioxidant with collagen-boosting, skin-brightening properties, Vitamin C is our desert-island skincare ingredient and one we like to pepper throughout our regime. Lixirskin’s cleansing Vitamin C Paste contains a potent 10% L-ascorbic acid (a form of vit C) for a morning radiance-boost, while a sweep of Pixi’s Vitamin-C Tonic gently yet effectively exfoliates and brightens. With 15% L-ascorbic acid SkinCeuticals’ fast-absorbing CE Ferulic Serum delivers visible results.

On days when we don’t look as bright-eyed as we feel, these rescue remedies never let us down. MZ Skin’s Golden Eye Treatment patches are infused with collagen, hyaluronic acid and seaweed, to quickly reduce puffiness after a long flight. To brighten and hydrate the eye area, we rely on a daily application of Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes concentrate, which can be massaged in with Goop’s soothing and cooling Rose Quartz Roller.

During skin flare-ups and bouts of redness it’s essential to have a calming kit at the ready. Dr Sebagh’s Rose de Vie Serum uses rosehip oil to quickly reduce inflammation and soothe sensitive skin. A layer of Erborian CC Red Correct under an everyday base is our secret weapon when disguising a red, irritated complexion. And just three drops of de Mamiel’s Antioxidant Elixir effectively calms skin, while inhaling the essential-oil blend calms the mind.

Nothing ruins a day like a spot, so these effective solutions are a beauty-cabinet saviour. Glossier’s portable Zit Stick uses 2% salicylic acid to take down redness and swelling and can be applied throughout the day over make-up. The genius Mighty Patch from Hero Cosmetics absorbs impurities to get rid of breakouts – simply cover the spot, leave for six hours or overnight, then remove when the patch has turned white. We’ve found SkinCeuticals’ Blemish + Age Defense Serum to be the best product for taking down redness and healing marks left by blemishes.

With Laura’s combi-to-oily complexion and Petro’s sensitive skin, rare is the face cream that hasn’t been put through its paces. Providing high levels of hydration in an ultra-light formula, Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Face Cream Light is an everyday must for shine-prone skin. For getting sebum levels in check, it doesn’t come better than Omorovicza’s gel-like Balancing Moisturiser, which is fast-absorbing for morning application. Easily irritated skin is left feeling calmed, hydrated and ironed out with RéVive Sensitif Renewal Cream SPF 30.

Our motto is, “SPF everyday, even in winter”. Formulations should be SPF 30 and above and have both UVA and UVB protection – the trick is finding the right texture for you. Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35 is the lightest we’ve found, the serum-like gel instantly disappearing and leaving no white cast. Cream lovers should reach for Skinceuticals’ Ultra Facial UV Defense SPF 50+, which has a hydrating formula. And for those who have their skincare routine down pat, Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Sun Drops SPF 50 can be added to your daily serum or cream.

A feature in both Laura and Petro’s routine, retinol is considered the most effective ingredient to diminish lines and refine and firm skin texture. The trick is to use it at night, start slow and with a low percentage, and wear a good sunblock the following day. We love the hydrating formula of Skin Laundry’s Night Renew Treatment, which feels comfortable while delivering results. Lixirskin’s Night Switch contains a potent 1% retinol, to achieve noticeably smoother skin in a matter of weeks. Oil devotees will love Sunday Riley’s retinol-rich Luna Sleeping Night Oil, which uses plant extracts to nourish.

Skincare should work as hard as we do, which is why Laura loves Kypris Beauty’s Moonlight Catalyst serum, which uses pumpkin enzymes to enhance cell renewal overnight, giving a brighter and smoother complexion. For tired skin, Sarah Chapman’s luxe Skinesis Overnight Facial offers an intense complexion overhaul, plumping and smoothing skin by morning. Petro is especially impressed with Herbivore’s Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment thanks to the noticeably refreshing and smoothing effect the clean cream offers.

More than just a pamper, face masks should deliver real skincare benefits, which is why we’re impressed with La Mer’s Sheet Masks which come soaked with its iconic Treatment Lotion to give a significant boost to hydration and glow. The active AHAs in MZ Skin’s clarifying Radiance & Renewal Mask mean it’s the product to reach for at night-time to effectively brighten dull-looking skin. Tata Harper’s clean Resurfacing Mask, uses a blend of natural ingredients to make pores look smaller and skin appeal clear and fresh.

Removing make-up, cleansing and toning the skin, micellar water is a time-saving multitasker worth adding to your arsenal. Clean-beauty fans should reach for Odacité’s Blue Aura Cleansing Water, which contains ayurvedic herbs to protect against pollution. Bioderma’s biodegradable Micelle Make-up Wipes give an effective water-free cleanse, well-suited to travelling. And for an extra moisture boost, Dior’s Hydra Life Micellar Milk blends cleansing-oil micelles with nourishing rice milk.
