  • Laura’s Wardrobe Staples

As this issue is all about what to wear right now, I wanted to open my closet doors and share the staples I rely on time and again. I consider this my capsule wardrobe; the pieces I can reach for on any occasion, dressing them up or down, layering and respinning them. After all, the true value of wardrobe staples lies in their versatility. From a beloved trench coat to wear with (almost) everything, to outfit-transforming knee-high boots, these are the items I can’t live without.

    Veronica Beard

    Cedar Striped Ribbed Pima Top£122.50

“This is one of my best buys of the winter. Layer it under neutrals or clash it with prints.”

    A-Line Leather Skirt£235

“A leather skirt is a sophisticated staple with true longevity; no matter the sartorial climate, you will always find pieces to pair with it.”

“Whether I’m clashing motifs or adding print to a monochrome outfit, these boots have given my wardrobe a new lease of life.”

    Laura Fantacci X Otiumberg

    Mini Vera Hoops£110

“I designed these five years ago and they continue to be my most-worn hoops. The flat edge updates a classic shape.”

    Mara Hoffman

    Adelina Floral-Jacquard Cotton-Blend Wrap Dress£415

“Beulah’s midi hits that sweet spot of making you look pulled-together, polished and feminine all at once.”

    The Chelsea Long Trench Coat£1,650

“If I had to pick my number one wardrobe staple, it would have to be this trench coat.”

“I can’t survive without a great pair of ankle boots. The key to success is a slimline silhouette and walkable heel.”

Small Hampstead Classic Grain Leather Handbag£795

“This is the bag I keep coming back to, thanks to its great shape, practical size and stylish hardware.”

    See By Chloé

    Floral Ruffle Blouse£250

“Wear this cotton blouse with leather pieces now, switch to denim or chinos in spring.”

“A belted cashmere cardigan in universally flattering stone is a real multitasker; wear it open or closed, over maxi dresses or jeans.”

    Princetown Shearling-lined Leather Loafers£810

“Elevating weekend denim, as well as adding functional sophistication to your workwear wardrobe, this is the perfect trans-seasonal shoe.”

“A 70s-inspired round frame is my go-to sunglasses silhouette all year round.”

    Oversized Belted Faux Fur Coat£640

“The one piece to add drama to a low-key outfit. Use it to elevate a simple knit and jeans.”

    Clara Belted Cotton-blend Jumpsuit£375

“This jumpsuit has real cool-factor. It’s one-step dressing at its best.”

    Saint Laurent

    Classic Court Leather Sneakers£395

“I bought these trainers almost four years ago and, cost-per-wear, they are still one of my best buys. Need I say more?!”
