  • Spring Glow

As the seasons shift, our beauty focus turns to promoting a healthy glow – after all, the colder months can leave skin looking dull and tired, and that summer holiday is still a few months away. From radiance-boosting masks to gradual tans and blushers, here are our best-in-class faux-glow-givers.

    Charlotte Tilbury

Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask, 50ml£35

Charlotte Tilbury’s Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask does exactly what it says on the tin. Apply in place of night cream before bed – making sure to blend it into the hairline and wash hands afterwards – go to sleep and wake up with a natural-looking glow. The colour can be built up over a few days; I found two nights’ use gave me a gentle, even bronze. The formula contains oat-kernel extract and blackcurrant-seed oil to nourish skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and soft.

Invisible Illumination [Kaunis] Watercolor Blush, 15ml£22.50

I was really impressed with the natural flush offered by this weightless blusher from Lumene. The matt, skin-like finish leaves a subtle, healthy glow, while antioxidant-rich cloudberry and subtle illuminating pigments help to brighten and hydrate skin. Pat a small amount of the pigmented fluid onto the apples of your cheeks using your fingertips, taking it ever so slightly along the cheekbones. The easy-to-blend texture can be built up to give as much colour as you wish.

    Illuminator, 30ml£23

NARS is a true beauty-bag go-to, and the cult Illuminator didn’t disappoint. The lightweight, easy-to-blend formula contains light-reflecting particles, which offer a sheer wash of luminosity and subtle pop of colour. A little goes a long way: using your fingertips, dot onto cheekbones, brow, Cupid’s bow and down the bridge of the nose. For a gentle glow, use as a primer before your base or, for a dewier look, apply it as a finishing step.

Sleep Oil Rejuvenating Miracle Tanning Oil£34

This Tan-Luxe product came recommended by our good friend and skincare expert, Alexandra Steinherr, so I couldn’t wait to give it a try. Combining skin-nourishing oils (including argan, marula and jojoba) with self-tan, it gives a glowing, hydrated complexion overnight. After just one use, I had a subtle sun-kissed look and was impressed with the streak- and scent-free finish. I would recommend doing a patch test as the formula is a little hard on sensitive skin. Apply on clean skin before bed and wake up bronzed.
