Having spent months at home – and only needing to put on a little lipstick for the odd video call – it’s been a joy to keep make-up minimal, let my skin breathe and spend more time taking care of my complexion. But as the world slowly adapts to a new normal, it would be a shame to go back to the old ways. Now’s the time to step into the new season with a skin-positive mantra: this is my face and I will do the best for it. With this in mind, here are my 10 favourite beauty products to help you do just that, as you move from Zoom to boardroom.
Estée Lauder
The sunny weather means we’re still able to enjoy being outside, but it also means we need to protect our skin. I’ve been wearing this Estée Lauder SPF religiously. It goes on clear – which is like gold for women with darker skin tones. Wear every day, whether it’s sunny or not.
Chanel
If you want a base that offers a little more coverage for returning to work, but still like skin to feel natural, try a water-based foundation such as Chanel’s Les Beiges Tint. This was my holiday foundation and the super-light, hydrating formula offers a glowy coverage that can be topped up with concealer where needed.
Glossier
Embracing your true skin tone is where the beauty is – we’re all so different and its lovely to see people’s features shine through. It’s key to pick products that do this, such as Glossier’s Generation G lipstick, which works with your natural lip colour to create your own unique shade.
Estée Lauder
We know that the commute and working environment is going to mean exposure to pollutants, but after months of staying away from them, it would be a shame to admit defeat. Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum is full of antioxidants to keep your skin protected and hydrated, plus it repairs cells to prevent ageing. This is my one must-have product!
