    • When it comes to colour, we recommend investing in black. It’s the most wearable and flattering shade, giving you the option to elevate or keep the look off-duty.
    • While ankle-grazing styles work with trainers and flats, a split-hemmed, flared silhouette will be easy to dress up when we head out of lockdown and back to work.
    • Perhaps our favourite thing about swapping jeans for leggings is how easy it is to wear whatever pair of boots we like, from riding to over-the-knee and combat styles.

    How To Wear Leggings

At ICONS HQ, we all have our own definition of what it means to be comfortable at home. Dungarees, relaxed-fit jeans and tracksuits all have their place, but edging into the lead position are leggings. We used to wear them on travel days or for a long walk, and now we’ve discovered that they might just be the most wearable item in our wardrobe.

    Top Tips

    • A word on layering: when it comes to lengths, we err on the side of shirts, knits and coats that fall below our bottom. It’s a personal preference, but we find that longer layers keep your body cosy and the look polished.
    • We love the style juxtaposition of super-comfortable pieces with sharp tailoring. For instance, black leggings with a smart black wool coat and leather bag… finished with bare ankles and trainers.
    • To up the cool factor, here’s an easy style hack: avoid logos and prints. Instead, wear minimalist black leggings with a pared-back palette, opting for white shirting or neutral roll-necks and then layering up in classic shades.
