  • Petro’s Back-To-Work Essentials

My approach to workwear centres on versatility. I don’t have a separate workwear wardrobe, so pieces need to straddle dress codes, with the ability to be dressed up for the office and down for when I’m off-duty. Every piece on my list could be taken on a city mini break or worn at the weekend. Comfort is also key, especially as I’ll still be doing a lot of my 9-5 from home. So, when selecting new additions, I’ve sought out effortless styles that not only look good, but make me feel good, too.

    Brinker & Eliza

Gold-Plated The Best Is Yet To Come Heart Earrings £53

“I love statement jewellery and these lightweight heart hoops will give my smart basics a lift.”

“Pouches are one of my best styling tips. Use them as in-tote storage to keep essentials organised, and when going from desk to dinner, you can repurpose them as a clutch, leaving your big bag at the office.”

    Mélange Cashmere-Blend Maxi Dress£540

“Basically loungewear, but office-appropriate, a knitted dress is one of the most comfortable workwear outfits going.”

    Tereza Cotton-Jersey T-Shirt£35

“I prefer wearing a luxe cotton T-shirt to a classic button-down as it gives suiting a contemporary, laid-back edge.”

    Gucci Beauty

    Crayon Contour Des Lèvres 03 – Camel£24

“Forget a power suit, my go-to confidence-booster is a statement power lip. I love this terracotta shade as an alternative to pillar-box red.”

    Wavelength Belted Jumpsuit £425

“I’m a big fan of jumpsuits, which are so easy to dress up for the office, then restyle for off-duty.”

Polished Binder Lace Up Boot Brogue£850

“I can’t live without my Church’s lace-up boots and love wearing them with suiting or dresses as a smart alternative to biker boots.”

    Mansur Gavriel

    Large Tote Bag£565

“On days when I have to carry my entire desktop around with me, a large leather tote keeps things chic.”

    Plexiglas Silver-Tone Watch£550

“Not only practical, a statement watch is also a great way to add interest to a plain outfit.”

“Trainers might not be in everyone’s workwear capsule, but for me they’re a must. The ultimate commuter shoe.”

    Dundee Cashmere Jumper £108

“A cashmere crewneck is an invaluable outfit building block. If you have neutrals covered, try mixing things up with a soft blue hue.”

    Gia Double Breasted Twill Blazer£298

“A great suit never fails to make me feel pulled together. I already have classic styles in my arsenal, so I’m coveting sharp tailoring in an unusual colourway.”

    Wool Straight-Leg Pants£910

“A straight-cut tailored trouser is my go-to for teaming with trainers, loafers and mid-heels.”

    Ninety Percent

    Linen-Jersey T-shirt£40

“I’ve worn this linen T-shirt on repeat. The breathable fabric delivers on comfort and keeps its shape when washed.”

Oblio Wireless Charging Station and UV Sanitiser£79.95

“This smart gadget is a permanent fixture on my desktop. Use it to sanitise and charge your phone. Genius.”

    Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash 50ml£7

“Hand sanitiser is one of my handbag essentials, and this is the best-smelling formula I’ve come across.”

    Swedish Stockings

    Doris Polka-Dot 40-Denier Tights£20

“Tights season is nearly here, so why not add interest with a polka dot pair. A chic statement finishing touch.”

    Kurt Geiger

    Burlington £99

“Although I’m a flats fan, there are occasions when a heel is required. These smart block heels are a good, walkable height.”

Agnes Belted Blindseam Wool Longline Coat£348

“A bona fide outerwear classic, any outfit looks immediately polished with the addition of a timeless camel coat.”
