As we move into the new season, comfort is still paramount for me. I need pieces that can take me from business meetings to the school pick-up while making me feel as good as they look. This means a dressed-up casual aesthetic comprising knitted layers and luxe basics that will effortlessly work with my existing cold-weather collection. I’m doubling down on pieces I know I’ll get repeat wear from, such as jumpsuits, boots and knitted dresses (Chloé’s striped iteration being at the very top of my wish list). An injection of colour will come via a swipe of statement lipstick – which, after so many months of minimal at-home make-up, I can’t wait to wear!
“I invested in a pair of leopard-print boots a couple of seasons ago and cannot recommend them enough. Endlessly adaptable, they amp up neutrals, tastefully clash with prints and work with block colours for both day and evening. The trick is to choose a pair with a walkable heel, such as these.”
“The beautifully pared-back design of Celine’s shoulder bag cements it as a timeless investment. I already have forever styles in black, tan and brown, so love the idea of injecting colour into my collection with autumnal red.”
“Denim will continue to be a fixture in my new-season wardrobe, but I’ll be switching straight-leg jeans for flared cuts, which have just the right amount of vintage-inspired aesthetic.”
Michael Michael Kors
“It might make a statement, but leopard faux fur is as classic as it gets – think Edie Sedgwick, Debbie Harry et al. I’ll be using this bona fide multitasker to add wow-factor to everyday basics and evening wear.”
“Sunglasses are a year-round must for me, and I always have a pair in my bag for those bright wintry days. Bottega Veneta’s contemporary take on the classic cat-eye has caught my attention – timeless yet modern.”
“I might have mentioned once or twice that I have a thing for bows! Not only will this headband lend polish to a cashmere-jumper-and-jeans look, it will also give me an instant mood boost.”
“I have really missed wearing lipstick so will be embracing it with gusto this autumn. Gucci’s long-lasting, luxe formulations have really impressed me, and I love this deep-red hue, which comes with a velvet matte finish.”
“Jumpsuits have become a staple in my autumn/winter wardrobe, and I love Ulla’s feminine silhouettes. When temperatures drop, my tip is to layer up with a roll neck underneath. Reach for fine-gauge merino knits or striped jersey styles.”
