  • Petro’s New Season Edit

I’ve invested heavily in my wardrobe over the past few years and I’m now at a stage where I have most of my basics covered. This means for the new season I’m concentrating on topping up my existing collection with the odd fashion-forward piece (such as Khaite’s suede tote), which will give those classics a fresh feel. I also like to use this time as a moment to pull out pieces I haven’t thought about in a while, but feel right for now. This autumn that means my faithful Converse All Stars.

    Bella Freud

Velvet Bianca Jacket and 1976 Trousers £590

The 70s is my spiritual home when it comes to style, so I’m looking forward to wearing this cord suit from now all the way through till Christmas. I’ll wear it with loafers for daytime, then add evening shoes and jewellery for a modern party look.

    Oversized Long-Sleeve Shirt£59

This shade of pink works really well with rich oxbloods, browns and navy. I’ll be using it to update my autumn trouser suits.

    Logo Brown Leather Loafers£790

I’ve just invested in these loafers and like how the chunky shape makes my classic pieces feel contemporary.

    Carolina Bucci

Florentine Finish 18kt Gold Huggie Earrings£630

I already have these gold hoops and wore them every day last winter. An elevated essential – I can’t recommend them enough.

    Lotus Mini Suede Tote Bag£1,260

Khaite’s suede Lotus tote reminds me of a bag my mum had in the 80s. The absence of any hardwear makes it totally timeless.

    Bordeaux V-Neck Silk-Crepe de Chine Midi Dress£365

I’m a long-time fan of Asceno’s silk slips. I’ll wear this red one during the festive period, then respin it with a linen shirt for summer.

    Cashmere Kensington Trench Coat£2,790

I’ve been on the hunt for a luxe, versatile black coat for ages and think I’ve found it in this Burberry number.

    Really Wild

Cashmere Mix Mock Turtle Neck Jumper£145

You can’t go wrong with camel cashmere, and the relaxed fit of this knit gives it a modern feel. Style it with chinos and loafers, or jeans and trainers.

    Converse Chuck Taylor All Star£60

Converse are making a comeback this season, so I’m pulling mine from the wardrobe and wearing them with trouser suits, denim and silk slips.

Polarised Round Sunglasses in Gold/Dark Green£184

Sunglasses are an essential in my bag all year round. These round frames have a 90s aesthetic that will lend a cool edge to my autumn basics.

    Isabel Marant

    Lemony High-Rise Flared Jeans£395

Last year I invested in a pair of cream jeans, so this season I’m reaching for black to update my denim collection. The high-waist/wide cut is particularly flattering.

Panthère De Cartier 27mm Medium Stainless Steel Watch£5,100

If you have a big birthday coming up, this is one for the wish list. I adore mine and find it makes whatever I wear it with instantly feel more polished.

    La Redoute

Wool Mix Jumper In Cable Knit With Crew Neck £40.80

One trend I’ll be adding to my wardrobe this season is cable knit. A classic cream crewneck will work layered over dresses or paired with autumn trousers.

Love Link Necklace Yellow Gold Vermeil£220

The perfectly understated gold necklace that will give a luxe glow to whatever I’m wearing.

    Gitty Leather Shirt Dress£289

Over the years I have invested in leather trousers and skirts, both of which I wear often. So I’m confident this leather dress will also become a firm favourite.
