    To Our Sales Buys

When we were planning this issue, we started reflecting on some of our favourite sales buys. Turns out, this is the time of year we tend to either finally get our hands on something we’ve been stalking since the SS shows (the previous September!), or plug a gap in our wardrobes that really makes a difference. So we thought we might inspire you with the sales buys we’ve loved and worn the most.

“Is there anything more satisfying to buy in the early-summer sales than amazing earrings? It’s always this time of year, when I’ve finally thrown off the winter coats and jumpers, that I reach for statement earrings. Usually oversized, quite colourful and never understated. Note my new faves: the biggest hoops in the world.”

“As soon as I spotted this dress on the Chloé SS17 catwalk I was obsessed. Unfortunately, it was just too expensive for me to buy – and watching my friends wear the dress was excruciating. Fortunately, I returned home from a holiday to find the dress in Petro’s sales edit. Even better, there was one left in my size!”

“I love statement shoes but so often, I find them all a little girly. This pair caught my eye early in the season, but they were a little experimental so I didn’t want to commit to them full-price. I needn’t have worried though – as soon as I snapped them up in the sales they didn’t leave my feet all summer.”

“The year before last I noticed a gap in my high-summer wardrobe: a breezy, sleeveless dress. So I made a mental note and when the sales rolled around the following spring, I pounced on this dreamy, loose-on-the-body ruffled number from Lisa Marie Fernandez (which you can still buy!).”

“I’ve always found statement bottoms make getting dressed – and looking polished – so much easier. Once on, they require such simple pieces to work: a white shirt and slides. However I often end up buying them in the sales, because finding a timeless print in a flattering cut can be expensive.”
