When it comes to pulling together a holiday capsule wardrobe that’s as wearable as it is gorgeous, years of returning to sun-drenched spots in Europe have honed our co-founder’s instincts.

For Laura, the annual pilgrimage to the beautiful town of Scicli in Sicily marks the beginning of her favourite time of year. This is both meteorologically and sartorially speaking. Regular readers will know how much she loves summer (and the warmth that comes with it). By her own admission, she’s happier on the beach than anywhere else. And in terms of dressing, embracing faded prints, relaxed silhouettes and a basket on her arm is heaven. Read on for the chic pieces she took on her latest tour.

“As silly as it sounds, I like to dress for the location I’m visiting, and a pineapple in Sicily just seemed appropriate. This dress will be perfect for high summer.”

“These slides have been such a good investment. Stripped-back, they are a simple, tan slide. But the archive logo makes everything you wear them with look so good. I wore them most days.”

“The maxi and beach bag combo is a fail-proof go-to for summer holidays. And this simple dress ticks all my boxes: subtle colour, classic stripes, easy tunic shape and a ruffle at the hem. Perfection!”

“A pair of statement earrings always brings an outfit to life and at the moment I’m obsessed with Lizzie Fortunato – this New York-based brand just do charms so well.”

“A linen dress is the perfect thing to wear when you’re visiting a town. It’s so breezy and comfortable in the heat, and I love the nautical feel of this dress. It has that lovely, worn feel.”

“The gorgeous shell detail on this mini raffia bag is almost like jewellery – it’s just so pretty and delicate, it really feels like a treasure. Plus, it gave my wardrobe that instant summer feel.”

“A wrap skirt is like an elevated beach sarong – except that it’s far more flattering and even easier to wear and style. I always pack with a colour theme in mind, and this blended perfectly with my earthy palette.”

“I never (ever) tire of a basket. At this point, I could even be called a collector. It’s just such an easy switch to make at this time of year and makes everything beach-appropriate.”

“I absolutely love a ra-ra skirt – it sums up my holiday style. And pairing it with a high-neck crop top is a great example of how something can be both a statement and quite simple at the same time.”

“I never wear make-up to the beach, but I always wear shell earrings. It’s part of my beach uniform – and they’re not teeny-tiny either. I love to make a bit of a statement by the sea.”

“Having one outfit that really covers you up is quite nice to have on holiday. These separates were super comfortable, but also a lovely step-change from summer dresses in a great, vintage-style print.”

“True, it’s a basket. But not just any basket… it has that covetable designer sparkle. A summer ICON.”
