The first thing I do is choose a colour palette- this is the single most important tip I always give. Not only does it help coordinate everything in your wardrobe, but it also makes it much easier to edit things down. This summer I am going for a monochrome base with touches of green and shades of blue. It also helps to have a “hero” item that sets the tone of your holiday wear- for me this year it’s my new Prada deck stripe canvas beach bag.

On a beach holiday there is no limit to the number of bikinis and swimsuits I pack- it’s what I live in most days and I like to have lots of choice. This year I’ve invested in a few new pairs to revive my stash. I love Prism for their mix and match approach and great fabric quality, Bodas for their simple and flattering designs and Marysia for more fun pieces.

Shoes are always a source of debate. For longer holidays I pick two of the same styles in lots of different designs. I love espadrilles, so I’m packing everything from wear-to-the-beach ones to more dressy ones for the evening.

Even on holiday I do a lot of running after my daughter, Greta, and for that reason I find shorts eternally practical. I like MiH, J.Crew and to cut my own from old pairs of jeans. This year I bought a woven fabric belt from Isabel Marant to wear them with.
