HOW TO FLATTER A NARROW WAIST
The wide leg trouser is a huge trend for next season. I think because we’re so used to skinny jeans and skinny trousers and low cut pants, initially the thought can be overwhelming but, for someone with a little waist, who is a little taller, it’s the perfect cut. Because they are very high waisted, the eye is drawn to your smallest point – the waist – which is emphasised by the elegant bow. If you’re not tall, wear them with a wedge or a heel, although they can also be worn more casually with a really nice raffia sandal.
TRY A TIE DETAIL
It is important however, that you keep the top half of your outfit structured, tailored or simple. Avoid anything too voluminous, as you need to balance the volume at the bottom. These are also made from a very lightweight cotton so they hang well and won’t add unnecessary bulk. I chose the shirt because it’s quite utilitarian; denim is a big up-coming trend and the pocket detailing is really good for people with a smaller bust. It almost acts as an enhancement and draws the eye to the area, balancing out the outfit even more.
