SUMMER DRESSES WITH A TEE
Who needs summer to finally hit our shores when we can attempt a little creative dressing? We’ve been breathing a longer shelf life into our summer dresses by casually wearing them layered on top of a T-shirt. We love stripes, and white and grey marl; the key is in the fit, so choose snug styles with crew necks and short sleeves.
INDIGO WIDE-LEG JEANS
When talking about the things we actually want to wear now, we couldn’t not include a great-fitting pair of jeans, and high-waist styles are usually the most comfortable. They also happen to be incredibly flattering with a wide leg and in a chic indigo shade. Wear them with ankle boots or trainers and your favourite shirt or peasant top for a striking effect.
TRAINERS WITH EVERYTHING
And when we say everything, we mean with everything and to anything. From pretty dresses to printed skirts and trousers, to work, at the weekend and everything in-between. We are particularly in love with Golden Goose styles, with their lived-in look and cool colour combinations: pink and red, pea green and emerald green – no matter which ones you go for, they seem to complement any outfit, plus there is no better shoe for comfort.
Think crumpled cotton, but with a gold weave; think drawstring waistline but the most beautiful print – that skirt that looks like you just unpacked from your summer holiday, but is still perfectly acceptable in the city, especially when paired with a smart top and a bit of a heel. Yes, we want to wear it every day!
A BLAZER, THE FRENCH WAY
This is the perfect time to pull out your classic navy, grey or tweed blazers and wear them with everything! They’ll smarten up your flared, straight or boyfriend jeans, or work over a dress, a jumper or a buttoned-down shirt in that effortless way that French girls really rock.
The little heroes that make everyday dressing easy yet stylish.
At Wardrobe ICONS we live and breathe fashion, but what we’re really passionate about is a realistic approach to dressing, one that meets our everyday needs while also being chic. So at this time of the year, when we are constantly fooled by the unpredictability of the weather and are commuting to work day-dreaming about our summer holidays, which clothes do we actually want to wear? We’ve tackled this quandary and come up with five practical-meets-stylish ideas that will ensure you’ll always feel put-together, with minimal effort.
