Petro and Roksanda
The strength of Wardrobe ICONS lies in the calibre of women we have on our cover.
They are not fly-by-night fancies, pretty faces with nothing to say, or just famous for the sake of it. Each one has been handpicked by us, and in many cases slowly pursued and persuaded over time, because we strongly believe you should know who they are. As a collective these are some of the most inspirational women in fashion, beauty and business.
London-based Serbian designer Roksanda Ilinčić has been on our list since day one for this very reason. Her bold, graphic designs in rich colour schemes are uncompromisingly artistic and timeless. In fact, you can spot a woman wearing a Roksanda original a mile off, although she will never look showy or overdressed – that’s the power of her pieces. Ilinčić’s cool exterior disguises a brilliantly warm and passionate designer, one I hope you will read all about in her exclusive interview with our editor-at-large, Deborah Brett.
Next, Laura and I share our winter staples; the items we love and wear on repeat, season after season, and that we know you will get that all-important 40+ wears out of. In our Style Sheet, we focus on one of winter’s key prints, checks, and the four ways to wear them now, which includes with one of our Top 10 lace-up boots, which I am personally teaming with everything in my wardrobe. For Beauty Focus, we tried and tested winter skin solutions, those slightly richer and more invigorating formulas we rely on once the radiators hit full blast and days get shorter and colder.
Lastly, the longer evenings mean a little more time for staying in and snuggling up, so sit back on your sofa and enjoy the last episode of our podcast. Laura had a fascinating chat with phenomenal event designer Fiona Leahy about harnessing and releasing creativity.
