Laura and I frequently get obsessed by a fashion trend (at the moment it’s tan and denim). What are your current fashion obsessions?
I am obsessed with square-toe shoes, oversized suits, and long, long, long dresses. For me, it’s always really important to create balance in an outfit and to offset elements against each other. I feel that looks work so much better when you contrast masculine and feminine, so for example, you may wear a really masculine-style tailored suit, and pair it with a bit of a crazy, jewelled, super-ladylike earring, or put a really feminine heel with ripped denim and a big white shirt.
Is there anything you would head to the high street for?
Always denim and those great easy beach clothes you can give to a charity shop after the summer.
Heels or flats, and where from?
Sneakers from Nike and heels from Nicholas Kirkwood.
Is there anything you never thought you’d wear in your 20s that you love now?
My style is pretty much the same as it was in my 20s!
We have a beauty and make-up section on the website, as we believe some beauty products can be just as iconic as a Birkin and a trench. What are your favourite cult beauty products?
For my face I love In Fiore Fleur Vibrante Balm, which is also great in my hair! I’ve also just discovered Sodashi, an Australian skincare brand, which is so brilliant – I love their Rejuvenating Concentrate. For hair, I love shampoos and conditioners from Oribe.
You are a style icon for many people (including us), but who are your style crushes?
Katharine Hepburn, because she was a true pioneer of man-style dressing: my kind of girl. Tootsie: has anyone ever worn red sequins so well? And FKA Twigs, because she’s just so genuinely cool and on a whole new level of her own.
