The White Shirt
Tonal styling is a simple way to give your white shirt a new point of view, so try layering it over a pair of white or ecru jeans. A tank slipped underneath gives you the option of wearing it either buttoned-up or open, while black accessories keep the look feeling seasonally appropriate. Add a trench for early spring showers.
The Wool Blazer
Tailoring doesn’t have to be reserved for officewear. Extend the lifespan of your wool blazer by juxtaposing it with a contemporary barrel jean to hit that smart/casual sweet spot. A slim, tapered-toe boot balances out as a voluminous leg shape, and a knitted kerchief will add a textural layer – as well as practical warmth.
The Grey Sweater
While a grey marl sweater is a loungewear staple, it gets a new – and more polished – lease of life when worn with high-rise dark denim and a sleek leather jacket. Clashing a sport silhouette with unexpected accessories, such as a spike-heeled boot and tennis choker, strikes a high/low balance.
The Black Tailored Trouser
Give your tailored trousers an edge by swapping a cotton button-down for a style in buttery leather. A second-skin rollneck peaking from your shirt collar is a modern lesson in layering. Add further cool-factor with high-shine elements: a glossy heeled pump and dark manicure.
The Knitted Dress
Your feminine knitted dress is given new attitude with a utilitarian-inspired jacket and chunky boots. Think about switching a leather bag for a sports-luxe nylon bucket, and add an elevating flash of gold with hoops and logo sunglasses.
The Loafer
Preppy loafers get an elegant spin when teamed with luxe suede trousers and a neutral knit. Keep the silhouette neat with a boxy tailored jacket. A roomy tote is functional for days when your laptop is needed – go for a colour that matches your shoes to create a more coordinated, and therefore polished, outfit.
The Leather Trouser
Loosen up your leather trousers for the weekend by styling them casually with a track top and trainers. A shorter length jacket lets statement trousers take the focus, while introducing pops of suede will soften the overall look.
The Barn Jacket
Take your barn jacket from countryside to city-ready by wearing it with a more tailored style of jean. A high-rise waistband works with the cropped jacket style, while western boots and a plaid shirt are a subtle heritage nod. Sharpen everything up with a structured shoulder bag.
