Deck The Halls
With only a couple of weeks until the big day, it’s time to get Christmas-ready. One of the most joyous things about the season is preparing the house for the holidays, so we’ve compiled a checklist of the best pieces to deck the halls in style.
Festive meals are the focal points of the season and nothing sets off turkey and fizz like a beautifully set table. Maison Margaux’s gold-trimmed scallop placemats have just the right amount of holiday flair and work perfectly with Summerill & Bishop’s mistletoe-print tablecloth and napkins, tied with velvet napkin bows from Mrs Alice. Finally, introduce a personalised touch to place settings with Joanna Ling Ceramics’ reusable place cards.
A scattering of candles will set a magical mood. We love Rebecca Udall’s burgundy Danish taper candles. Or, for a whimsical touch, try the Enchanted Forest candles from Anna + Nina. Keep fizz flowing in Oliver Bonas’s Champagne saucers and add John Lewis’s scalloped tumblers for water.
As for the food itself, a cheese board always goes down well, and The Fortnum’s Celebration Cheese Selection has everything you need. For everything else, Jamie Oliver’s Christmas Cookbook is full of delicious ideas, both traditional and vegetarian.
One of the chicest ways to decorate a room is with a garland strung across the mantelpiece or down the banister. Try The White Company’s fir tree garland or Oliver Bonas’s golden bell garland string lights to add a warming glow. Get the tree ready with Georg Jensen’s 2023 Christmas Collectibles decorations, then, for the final touch, scent your space with Plum & Ashby’s Christmas votive set.
