With the arrival of Sarah Burton, who has brought her signature sense of sensuality, on-point tailoring and understanding of how women dress now, heritage atelier Givenchy has stepped into a new era. You can expect a keen focus on easy wardrobe staples (Burton’s debut collection was an homage to the classic black trouser) as well as beautifully cut suiting and accessories that will amp up your everyday looks – the square-toed Mary Janes are top of our wish lists.
It might only be just over a decade old, but Stockholm-based Toteme has made an indelible mark on the fashion landscape thanks to its pared-back, uniform approach to dressing. Pieces are minimal with an emphasis on beautiful fabrics, and have a sense of everyday function that is often lacking from the luxury fashion landscape. This season, the woven midi dress and scarf blazer – evocative of its cult scarf jacket – are particular standouts.
Established in 1945, Celine has always adhered to classic style codes. Under Phoebe Philo’s tenure during the mid-noughties, the French luxury fashion house became a pinnacle of the quiet luxury look – think signature slouchy tailoring and white trainers. Now with creative director Michael Rider at the helm, the brand’s collections remain an exercise in refined ease and essential styling. Layer the Chasseur jacket over suit trousers or straight denim and add the sleek Louise bucket bag.
There’s an undeniable cool-girl feel to NY label Khaite. Founder and creative director Catherine Holstein has mastered the art of taking wardrobe classics and giving them a contemporary twist through unexpected fabrics, clever use of colour and print or a subtly reinterpreted silhouette. The effect is low-key but in the know. We especially love Holstein’s way with leopard print and her covetable leather pieces.
If there’s one piece that encapsulates the quiet luxury aesthetic it’s the camel cashmere coat – and if there’s one label synonymous with it, it’s Max Mara. From the original tailored 101801 to the belted Berard and even the teddy textured, shrug on any one of the Italian fashion house’s iconic designs and you’ll instantly exude old-school polish. Finish with a premium cashmere knit.
Founded by Parisian influencer Chloé Harrouche in 2019, Loulou De Saison was born out of the desire for beautifully made, classic knitwear in chic neutrals. The label has since extended into a capsule of separates, outerwear and accessories that embody a simple and timeless aesthetic, albeit with French flair. Take note of the classic denim, which would pair beautifully with a signature jumper and flats.
