Welcome to a new era!

The website you are about to flick through will look a little different than it has for the past five or six years. We thought it was time for a makeover, so we’ve been secretly working on this for over a year. The principle hasn’t changed – our mission is still to show you what never goes out of fashion – so we wanted the website to reflect that with a more pared-back, essential aesthetic. So, come on in and enjoy the all-new Wardrobe ICONS!

It also happens that this issue falls in Earth Month. It’s an important time for us as the concept of circularity, sustainability and buying with a more mindful approach is part of our DNA. We wanted to celebrate this with a very special cover star for whom sustainability is also a core focus. Miranda Kerr launched her hugely successful beauty brand KORA Organics over a decade ago, and sustainability is woven into the identity of both the company and her own life. In The Experts interview on page 2 she talks to us about life as a busy CEO and mother-of-three and the challenges and rewards of running an eco-friendly business.

We are always looking to the past to create an even better future, so on page 3 we’ve refreshed our ICONS Guide To Eco Credentials, which explains what you should be looking for from the brands you buy from in order to be a more Earth-friendly consumer. You’ll also find lots of mindful shopping in this issue, from Style Sheet on page 5 to our pick of the 10 best city basket bags on page 4 and a celebration of double denim in Unexpected Hero on page 7. For Beauty Focus, on page 8, Petro and I test-drive four clean-beauty brands for you, from established pioneering names to newer ones we’ve just discovered. Finally, for this issue’s Spotlight On, on page 6, we look at the champion and trailblazer of eco fashion that is Stella McCartney.
