  • Party Make-Up

Our approach to make-up is pretty pared-back most of the year, but during party season, we like to turn it up a notch. Whatever the occasion and dress code, there are a couple of reliable tricks we use to add oomph to our beauty looks. What’s more, they’re quick and easy to master, so even if you only have five minutes to get ready, you can still channel effortless festive glamour.

    The Pachino Lipstick£32

A red lip is my go-to party beauty look, and this season I will be reaching for our W.ICONS exclusive Pachino lipstick. The perfect year-round orange-red, it will add va-va-voom to my LBDs and evening separates. Formulated to be buildable, it can be worn as just a hint of colour or a full-on rouge pop. Here, I’ve taken it to the max by applying three coats. My tip is to work the first layer into my lips with a finger, to catch corners and edges, then add two more for an intense pigment that stays in place, even after countless glasses of fizz.

    Set In Stones£7.99

During the other 11 months of the year I tend to play it safe with my nail colour, opting for barely-there hues or classic reds. However, come party season, I like to experiment. Past years have seen me try gold and silver, but this year I’m going for glitter to add a touch of sparkle to my party looks. This Essie top coat delivers dazzle in a subtle way, and I love that it can be worn on top of your favourite base shade. I’ve paired it with the palest pink for a low-key look that works for both daytime and evening.

    AWESOME BRONZE™ Oil Body Balm£50

At this time of the year, my skin looks less than glowy, so I always reach for a bronzing body butter to add instant radiance. What I love most about Beauty Pie’s oil balm is the nourishing, hydrating formula, which is infused with coconut milk and shea butter and leaves my skin feeling super-soft. The gold fleck leaves just the right amount of shimmer without being over the top, while vanilla gives a delicious scent. Before getting dressed, I’ll be massaging this on to legs, arms and décolletage.

    Jones Road

    Lip And Cheek Stick£30.50

Jones Road, the new cosmetics line from beauty maestro Bobbi Brown, has really impressed me. Not just for the wearable colours and easy formulations, but also the clean, high-grade ingredients. My current favourite is the Lip and Cheek Stick, a silky tint that gives a wash of colour. I use shade Bright Pink across the apples of my cheeks and on my lips to create a soft, rosy flush that warms up my complexion and has a youthful look. Being a multitasker, it’s also perfect for putting in your party bag.
