ISSUE 151
When we think of holiday dressing, the first brand that springs to mind is Zimmermann. Whether it’s swimwear, a beach cover-up or one of their instantly recognisable dresses, the pieces shout summer and beg to be worn in warmer climates. With an emphasis on achieving the perfect cut, every design has its foundations in swimwear and, due to the way the brand plays with unusual silhouettes, we’re yet to try on a piece that didn’t look good. This, combined with their signature bold prints, makes a Zimmermann piece instantly recognisable and totally different from anything else in our summer wardrobe. For holiday wear to make you feel your absolute best, it’s a great summer-box investment.

Zimmerman is one of the few brands whose floral prints I always adore – they have that perfect balance of a modern cut and vintage-looking patterns
After leaving design school, Nicky spent six months working at a swimwear company – the legacy of which can still be seen in the style and cut of all Zimmermann pieces. She launched the brand in 1991 at the tender age of 22, in Sydney’s Paddington Markets. Nicky started with 10 ready-to-wear pieces, then designed and created garments from her parents’ garage during the week in preparation for the weekend market, refining her aesthetic and seeing how women responded to the designs. Her sister Simone later came on board and together they have grown the brand, selling worldwide and showing at New York Fashion Week.
